I'm going to say, I very much miss the "jank" of the first Cats are liquid game. The way you used to be able to chain multiple walljumps to gain extreme momentum or the manyways you could make cool tricks is unfortunately now gone. The new system, while much more refined, feels a lot less fun to play. Not a bad game but if you are looking for an experience similar to the first "Cats are liquid" game, this is VERY different. I much appreciate however that liquid-to-jump is more responsive.

I played and beat the first cats are liquid game, and as much as I hate to say it, the first game is better. I like the art style, but the controls is the main problem. Mainly, you can't jump off of walls anymore. You can only slowly glide up them, which kinda pulls the fun out of it. In the first game, if you where good enough, you could skip a section just by jumping up a slanted wall, which made the game tons of fun to speed run. I'd just like if you put that back in.

I've finished the game now. It all makes sense in the end, the features, the friends, everything, and it's absolutely beautiful. Even tho I prefer the old design, the story is an absolute masterpiece and I didn't play something like that before. I still think this version improved the cats movements extremely! I am kind of missing the glow the cat had in the first game tho.
