It's a pitty. The way they translated MtG to a match 3 gameplay is really smart and we'll done. However, the game looks like from 2004 (and runs like one) which really puts me off. On top of that the P2W component is pretty obvious from the start. Finally, there is no real tutorial and you are left to figure out a bunch of game mechanics by yourself. If you have some MtG experience that's fine but I assume if you don't it will be tough. All in all feels like a missed opportunity.

It has become a lot better and more optimized in the last years but there are still too many slow effects and animations bogging down the gameplay and making you avoid certain deck types. Balance is pretty wild and overpowered stuff isn't fixed but you can still win most of your matches once you get some cards and planeswalkers to build with. I'm playing for free for a few years now but I would actually buy something if accounts were not only transferable if they are bound to facebook.

i had been enjoying this game for years, but this last update has really killed it for me. The new "Story" mode is a joke. All of 7 battles which can be beat with a starting deck with a planeswalker that is only leveled up a couple of dozen times. there's no challenge to them, so you can't even really test out new planeswalkers and decks in them. So get out your CC so you can buy crystals and packs in order to be able to participate in Limited Format events that cost crystals to enter.
