About this game

"Now the trumpet summons us again, not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are – but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle..."
– President John F. Kennedy

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Twilight Struggle puts the player at the center of the Cold War, the political and economic struggle between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R that spanned 5 decades from the 1950's to the 1990's. Designed by award winning creators Ananda Gupta and Jason Matthews, players control one of the two modern superpowers, as they work to spread their dominance throughout the world via political influence and coup attempts. But if either side triggers nuclear war, it's game over!

CARD BASED EVENTS
The event cards in the game are based on actual historical events from the Cold War era. Through the playing of these events, players exert their superpower's influence as they attempt to gain allies and regional control of the globe. From the early days of De-Stalinization, to the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War and beyond, players are immersed in the actual events of the struggle between these two nations to be the dominant superpower in the world!

Pretty good app. The game seems to be a strong war themed game. I've had minimal play so far as the tutorial is broken. I was on an airplane flight trying to learn the game and every time the AI took over Libya in the game, it froze. I waited, clicked every where nothing. I figured I'd learned the main things and could try to figure out the rest in play. So now that I've landed, I still need to look up a few rules. I think reinforcements? with late game things was not covered.

Good app of a GREAT game. Online is good but the AI has some flaws: 1. It will sometimes "choose" Defcon 1, which means they lose the game. This makes no sense and results in a really disappointing ending to a game. 2. If you're fairly experienced, you will beat the AI >90% of the time. You will only lose if you aren't paying attention or if you're really unlucky. It's basically a "training mode". The difficulty should be adjustable to offer an offline challenge for better players.

Excellent mobile version of the board game. It may just be confirmation bias but the dice rolls don't seem completely random. Far more sixes and ones than there should be. My opponent had a game where he rolled all sixes. Not impossible but incredibly unlikely. Doesn't spoil the enjoyment of an otherwise excellent board game app. Much quicker and easier to play than the actual board game. Suggestion for a new feature: ability to replay entire games to see where it all went wrong!
