More of a puzzle game than a strategy game, I didn't much enjoy the learning curve or the game itself. Time progresses after every battle (not just after every day), so if you strategically kill everything in a single turn you'll run out of time and fail. It's more about planning what to skip over and ignore, and the minutiae of multi character movement to optimise move distance, escorting distance and gear ferrying. Due to turn order, not being able to trade when a hero is done for the day, and sitting still taking the same energy as moving one space – this all just becomes tedious.

Hi Justin, Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback! You've understood the most important aspect of Andor which is that it's not about killing every monster but that it's about planning how to manage your time. Deciding, that this concept is not something for you is very valid and we're thankful to you for sharing your opinion! Enjoy your day!

Great game! I can't wait for an expansion and I'm considering getting the physical game. ps. If you're on the fence, read over the reviews first - as others have said this is definitely more like a boardgame puzzle where you have to manage your time/actions well to succeed than anything else. If that's not your thing, you may not enjoy it so much.

This is a really challenging but fun game. I highly recommend it if you like board games and carefully planning out your moves. It's essentially a board game puzzle with turn based combat. I call it a puzzle because most maps have very little flexibility in how to tackle the map. Quests all must be completed by a certain turn on the board, and there's rarely a lot of extra time to meet it. Most of the time you'll finish a quest at the last moment you can. Because of this, one mistake or bad dice roll can effectively end the map. Also, often they throw curveballs at you, like discovering you have to defeat a flying monster by turn 15, only to realize it's turn 14 and none of your heroes have a bow which is necessary to even fight a flying monster. This means you have to be overly prepared for everything, or just accept you'll spend 30 minutes on a map to lose at the last second to some surprise to have to do it all again. That's why it's essentially a puzzle. I'd give it 5 stars if there were a little more wiggle room in maps. But overall, it's well worth the money.

What’s new

Greetings, Andori! Three previously unknown, frosty legends await you and your new hero in the "Heart of Ice" expansion. Have you defeated the "Eternal Frost"? Then find out now how the story of Andor continues afterwards.
Of course, the game has been further optimized and improved so that you can fully concentrate on your adventures in Andor.
